At Hartzell we are proud of our long-standing commitment to the communities where we live and work. We work throughout the year to help those in need by supporting numerous nonprofit organizations through financial donations and organizational support. Our employees are active partners in these efforts, volunteering their time and giving generously to make a positive difference in the community.
The Hartzell “Great Place To Work” committee challenged employees to donate items to benefit the Piqua City Schools. Employees collected school supplies such as pens, pencils, binders, art supplies, crayons, markers, folders, glue, construction paper, notebook paper, scissors, subject dividers, highlighters, hand sanitizer, socks, and coats. As shown in the pictures below, Hartzell employees really came together to support their local school district!
Each year Hartzell and our employees support the United Way campaign. Employees give generously and the company makes a matching contribution to aid local charity organizations.
Hartzell Norris Trust
In 1941, at the death of Mrs. George W. Hartzell, Robert N. Hartzell established the Hartzell-Norris Charitable Trust in memory of his father, George W. Hartzell (pictured to the left), and his mother, Deborah Norris Hartzell. One purpose of the trust is to carry on much of the missionary work that was supported over the years by Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hartzell. Another purpose is to make money available for major charitable projects both within the Piqua community and in other areas.
The use of these funds has helped to establish and improve numerous institutions including The United Way, Young Men’s Christian Association, Young Women’s Christian Association, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Salvation Army, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Campus Crusade for Christ, Meals on Wheels, Young Life, Habitat for Humanity, churches, hospitals, a two-year community college, and a joint vocational school.
